On June 21st, we played a 90 min. set at the Palo Alto World Music Day. Everybody loved it!

Alan Moore (Accordion)

Alan studied piano in childhood and through his interest in the music of Bela Bartok discovered Balkan music and the accordion. He has been a member of Westwind International Ensemble and the People's International Silver String Macedonian Band. He currently plays accordion and kaval with Da! Mozhem, a Balkan dance band, accordion with Accidental Klezmer, and kaval and accordion with Klezbalkers. In addition Alan and Ginny just show up and play at dance venues and parties around the State as a duo.


Alex Ran (Clarinet)

Alex loves playing music that is happy even when it is sad and is a little sad even when it is happy. Music that is passionate and communicates without words and makes us dance.


Robert Feiner (Violin)

Bob Feiner previouly played bass guitar with The Wild Tones,and bass and rhythm guitar with Cheap Mice. In addition to playing violin with Accidental Klezmer, he currently plays fiddle with Crushed Emeralds Irish Session Band at O'Flaherty's Irish Pub on San Jose's San Pedro Square.


Daniel Krakauer (Banjo, mandolin)

Daniel plays a variety of instruments and styles of music. He is deeply drawn to the intricate melodies of traditional Irish dance tunes, the wild rhythms and emotive scales of Balkan music, and the passion and humor at the heart of Klezmer. Daniel's instruments of choice are the tenor banjo, Bulgarian tambura, and mandolin.

Ginny Snyder (Accordion and clarinet)

Ginny received a BA in music studying classical guitar and ethnomusicology, with a specific interest in Chinese music and Old Time American/Bluegrass. Her MM degree is in classical guitar performance and pedagogy. She has played at major festivals and venues throughout California with the bluegrass band Sidesaddle on banjo and dobro. In addition she has played classical guitar at national level master classes, for countless weddings and other joyful events. She currently performs on clarinet, tambura, brac, vocals and other instruments with Da! Mozhem, a Balkan dance band, plays clarinet with the DeAnza Wind Ensemble, accordion with Accidental Klezmer, and clarinet, tambura, vocals and accordion with Klezbalkers.


Helena Gelfor (Violin)


Helena studied classical music in Russia and graduated from music school before attending St. Petersburg Conservatory for 2 years. After a break to raise the family, she recently returned to playing her beloved violin. Klezmer music has always been in her heart, and is an important part of her heritage. In addition to "Accidental Klezmer", Helena is pursuing her love of Classical Music and is a Violin Teacher.


Patrick Kennedy (Bass)

A graduate of the SJSU, Patrick performed with SJ Symphony for 17 seasons. He have also performed with most of the major orchestras in the San Francisco Bay Area and Santa Cruz County. In addition to classical music, Patrick enjoys wide variety of acoustic and rock. These days he has added Celtic and Klezmer music to a long list of music that he loves to play. In addition to bass, Patrick also play guitar, mandolin and cello, not to mention a brief flirtation with the Highlander Pipes. Life presents us with such a variety of musical experiences. It is sure fun be able to be a part of those experiences.


Shannon Wells (Clarinet, doumbek)

Shannon Wells began her musical life as a wee bairn in a very musical household, standing around the piano with her mother and sister, singing show tunes at the top of her lungs. She has played numerous instruments since childhood, but currently sticks mainly to clarinet, doumbek (darbuka), guitar and vocals, with occasional appearances on tupan, drum set, piano, bodhran, and pennywhistle. Shannon fell so hopelessly in love with Klezmer and Balkan music the first year she went to Lark Camp that she has listened to and played almost nothing else since. Her aim is to share her joy in this music with as many people as possible, while steadily improving her musicianship.
